Mexico Mission

EMCI Mexico is a community of Chinese Christians from Southern California who are passionate about inviting SoCal churches to come and join us as we help create sustainable change in Ensenada, Mexico.

Our Vision and Plan

To transform lives and give hope by bringing people out of the cycle of poverty and homelessness, and transform lives by bringing Christ to them, bridging service gaps, creating networks, and building community through a community approach. Mission teams will work with local churches closely to reach out to the communities, invite people to go to churches, and preach the Gospel.

EMCI is planning to build a mission center in Ensenada. The center will be used as a community center that provides child care, bible study, and education classes. The teams can also stay there.

Why Ensenada?

A weekend can give you a taste of cross-culture mission

It is not far from the border, being just 78 miles South of San Diego. We do not have to travel too far to be able to serve them, and weekend long mission trips are viable for us.

People live in poverty

Our mission teams go to the rural areas of Ensenada, where most people live in poverty, with some families making barely $10 a day as seasonal farmers. The circumstance of each family is different, and we try to reach out to as many as possible, even just by bringing food to families, cleaning lice out of the hairs of children, and simply talking and praying with them.

Reach Native Tribes

Many native Mexicans migrated to Ensenada to work on farms. Many of these people speak their own dialects, such as Mixtec and Triqui, and cannot speak Spanish. This makes it difficult to teach them about the Gospel. Still, we feel the need to reach out to these people. Our goal is to plant a church in San Telmo (50 miles South of Ensenada). Currently, we are supporting Fausto, a native Mexican, to go to Bible school. He is willing to become the pastor of the church once he graduates.
