Pastor Reynerio started the Rose of Sharon Church in 2007 with a simple wish of offering sexually assaulted teenage victims a safe haven for regular gatherings. Rose church had very few members until EMCI mission teams started visiting the church in 2017. Mission teams’ activities have drawn people from the community to start attending church services. The church has evolved since and currently is home to about 80 members, comprised mostly of families belonging to Mixteco tribes. Many of the church’s early members have brought the gospel home to their native areas and continue to keep in touch with the church.
